About Us

Our Irish Society was founded in 1993 by a dedicated group of people
who wished to support Irish culture in our area through Dance,
Community Activities, Social and Cultural Events.

Throughout the year we hold a variety of activities at our Irish Center that include dinners, breakfasts and other events. Our annual 'Fest' is held in October. In December we have a Children's Christmas party, where Santa visits and hands out gifts to the children and grandchildren of our members. You can check  'Events' page for a list of what is happening each month at the Irish Center.

We offer Irish Ceili and Set Dance lessons from September through May for beginners and experienced dancers. For further information on these classes, contact Lessons at  nccirishsociety.org.

April 22 Ceili
We have a monthly Ceili that is held from September through May including a Potluck Dinner at our February Ceili. The public is welcome to join us in an enjoyable afternoon of great live music and Irish friendship.

Our newsletter, the "LEPRECHAUN", is published monthly to inform our members of activities at our Center. For a complimentary copy, contact Bill Hickey at hickstr23wfh@ comcast.net.

Each year our Club presents the "Erin Award" to one of our members.   This is a very special honor given for his or her dedication and service to our Club throughout the year.

Marching Orders
We participate in the St. Patrick's Day parade sponsored by the Irish Culture Club of Delaware in Wilmington.  After the parade, an "After Parade Party" is held at our Center where all are welcome to continue celebrating the day.

"Paddy's Pub", located on the lower level of our Irish Center, is open on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.  The Pub is open for NCCIS members and guests are welcome to join us for a fun evening of Irish music and friendship.

The Irish Library located in our Center is open on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 P.M. and other hours on request.  We are a lending library for most of our books, music, and videos.  We have more than 300 books including travel, Irish arts and crafts, history, fiction, and more, including Ireland of the Welcomes magazines.   We offer a comfortable sitting area for browsing or using our reference material.  For more information, email Library at NCCIrishSociety.org.
